Abstract:

The speaker will present a theory about the influence of breather population on reaction rate, based in Kramer's Theory. Previous works have taken into account only the breather population, but the existence of breathers implies  significant, periodic displacements of the atoms. Those displacements bring about an oscillating potential and, hence, a modulation of the potential barrier, which increase extraordinarily the reaction rate.
